in the books and after months of preparation and a full day
of softball, a champion was crowned. With the weather forecasts
calling for a cold and rainy weekend, we anticipated a low turnout
and were preparing for a possible rainout. What we got was cold
but no rain and the turnout was anything but low. We had originally
planned for 18 teams and just came in 1 short at 17 after 2 teams
joined forces to hit the field.
The teams consisted of guys who have never played together to successful
traveling teams to teams made up of just family. The teams also
varied in the distances they traveled to compete in this inaugural
tourney. Teams came from Montana, North Dakota and the home of the
Black Hills, South Dakota.
To honor the teams for their athleticism and teamwork,
prizes were given to the teams finishing up the evening in 1st,
