Mike
One Star Sr. Mike is Sicangu Lakota from the Two Strike Community (Land of fast horses) on the Rosebud Indian reservation, His father is the late Lloyd One Star Sr. and his mother is the late Annabelle White Cow Killer (Oglala). He has been dancing for 40 plus years and started out as a traditional dancer. He has 20 years of sobriety and has been a grass dancer for 20 years. HIs dancing has taken him around the world to places such as Finland, Monoco, Italy, Broadway, Philadelphia and powwows all over the United States and Canada. He has been an Arena Director, Head Judge, Headman dancer, and Head Whistleman He is married to wife Denise with 4 children - Jolene, Mike Jr., Canku and Oskate win. Mike is honored to be a part of head staff at the Black Hills Powwow and invites and welcomes everyone to the Wacipi. |
