Lawrence Baker is an enrolled member of the Hidatsa Nation of the Three Affiliated Tribes located on the Fort Berthold Reservation in North Dakota. He is the grandson of the Denver March Powwow's first announcer--Paige Baker, Sr.

Lawrence is employed by the Three Affiliated Tribes Housing Program. Most recently, he has served as Master of Ceremonies for:

• Pauls First Nations, Edmonton, Alberta, Canada
• Opaskwayak Cree Nation Celebration, The Pas, Manitoba, Canada
• Council Tree Pow Wow, Delta, CO
• George Mason Veterans Celebration, Fairfax, VA
• numerous dances and community events on the Ft. Berthold Reservation

Lawrence, Nikki and their children reside at Bakersfield in the Four Bears Community. Nikki is a Southern Cloth dancer and their children also dance.
