Black Hills Pow Wow 2010

Welcome to the He Sapa Wacipi Home Page.

Welcome! On behalf of the Board of Directors of the Black Hills Powwow Association, I invite you to come and enjoy the 24th Annual Black Hills Powwow slated for October 8-10, 2010, at the Rushmore Plaza Civic Center. The theme for this year’s Black Hills Powwow is “Celebrating Unity and Reconciliation.” Everyone is welcome to enjoy the beauty of Great Plains indigenous song and dance. We are very excited for this year’s powwow because we have a fantastic group of individuals serving as our Head Staff, including two premier champion drum groups—Young Thunder and Northern Cree! The 2010 Black Hills Powwow is planned to be the biggest and best in its 24 year history. The Black Hills Powwow has become one of the premier American Indian cultural events in the United States, attracting hundreds of dancers, singers, artisans and several thousand spectators from across several U.S. states and Canadian provinces. In addition to the powwow, spectators have the opportunity to enjoy a fine arts show, style show, scholarship He Sapa Win scholarship pageant, wellness symposium for youth, and tournaments for hand games, softball, golf, and archery. You are welcome to explore our website to see what may interest you. Also, thank you in advance for attending the 2010 Black Hills Powwow! Let us celebrate Unity and Reconciliation together by sharing our beautiful cultures.

I wish blessings upon you all!
